The last April 11st, Julian Assange was arrested by the British police, after the Ecuadorian embassy rejected to continue giving asylum to him. This man, the creator of WikiLeaks, is demanded by several countries, accused of espionage. Nowadays Julian is in England, waiting in prison to be extradited to the USA, but it seems to take long.
This man is an example of a sacrificed person, those who become famous because they throw away their possibilities to have a normal life for their ideas and principles. The ones that, thanks to their dedication, will power and faith in themselves, get to inform people about problems and make them act. They are really admirable people just for the fact that they chose the hard way in life: to fight for your ideals and for the benefit of all, without mattering the other things. This is why Julian Assange, although being a persecuted man, was awarded several times for his bravery and rebellion.
Julian, for those who do not know, was the creator of WikiLeaks, where anybody could upload secret and confidential documents without losing his or her anonymity. The web has millions of public files that show lots of lies, frauds and other compromising facts for states all over the world. https://wikileaks.org/
I have not thought much about my ideology, probably it is a thing that comes with the time, but in general terms I do not feel anarchist. Despite this, by the simple fact that all the states have secrets, they lose sense for me. I know that masses do not think and it is necessary to control what information is given to them, but if the ones that have the power do secret things or just things behind our backs, it is kind of a reason to not trust them. We are giving them the permission to govern us, make laws and manage our money, basically, we are giving them the power and then they are taking advantage of us and keeping all inside a strongbox. Just does not make sense to continue trusting these people, and if all the politics do the same, maybe we should start to think about another way to organise our society. This, of course, if anyone cares about justice and human rights and fights for them, because it is very easy to not do anything and just let them control us.
Maybe I would never give up my life to do this, but I clearly understand why Julian decided to reveal those things and became a symbol of fight against despotic states.
